Lindfield Village Run - virtual run/walk for 2021

The organising team of Lindfield Village Run, which traditionally takes place on the first Bank Holiday in May, has confirmed plans to hold a virtual event this year – in the light of the continuing pandemic. Co-chair Katherine Alcock explained: “Unfortunately, the timing of the easing of restrictions means that there is no simple answer for holding an event at the end of May. However, we did want to try to bring people together in a shared activity over that weekend.”

Between Saturday 29th and Monday 31st May residents are encouraged to go for a walk or run and to go past one of three ‘selfie boards’ – where participants are encouraged to take a selfie. The snap can either be posted on social media with the #LindfieldVillageRun or emailed to photos@lindfieldlife.co.uk, where they may be used in a round-up article in this magazine.

Without any distance or speed awards this year, the team has decided to create three fun prize categories – judged from the photos sent in. Prizes will be given for: Best Fancy Dress, Largest Family Bubble and Brightest Running Gear.

The selfie boards will be located next to the Pond, Hickmans Lane Playing Fields and at the bottom of the Common. There will be no official registration for this event. Simply go for a walk or run, take a selfie on your route and send in the photo.
