Lindfield Evening Women's Institute

Lindfield’s active Evening WI

By Kate Kent, president, Lindfield Evening WI

Lindfield Evening Women’s Institute (LEWI) is a vibrant part of Lindfield village life, bringing women together to learn, socialise and support good causes. We meet at King Edward Hall on the second Thursday of every month at 7.45pm, and our membership is now approaching 70.

At the heart of the WI is the combination of education, friendship and charitable giving. We particularly enjoy supporting causes that benefit women, while our varied programme gives members plenty of opportunities to get together beyond our monthly meetings.

This summer has been especially busy. We enjoyed a lovely visit to Pitfield Barn, followed by a leisurely boat trip from Itchenor, where we were lucky enough to see seals. Looking ahead, we are excited about our October visit to the King’s Gallery to see the Her Life in Style exhibition.

There is always something happening within LEWI. Alongside our monthly meetings, members can join village walks, lunches and dinners, as well as a wide range of social outings.

Above all, LEWI is about friendship, fun and being part of a community. Whether discovering something new, enjoying a day out or simply sharing good company, there is always a warm welcome for women who would like to join us.
