This photo is believed to have been taken by William Durrant Jr., a commercial photographer working in Lindfield at that time, whose studio address was Pear Tree House - owned by his father. It was a later owner of Pear Tree House who donated the land to build King Edward Hall, nearly 50 years after this photo was taken.
